The OKC Knights are Oklahoma City's oldest homeschool athletic organization. Our basketball program was founded in 1990 and in 1991 Oklahoma’s first homeschool basketball team was birthed.
What’s unique about the Knights
There are many good options between the homeschool teams in the OKC area – we know, we compete with them every year. At the same time, there are some unique attributes of the OKC KNIGHTS.
Our motto is OKC KNIGHTS: MORE THAN BASKETBALL. This means that we not only offer more sports than basketball, but that we are more than just an athletic organization. When you join the OKC KNIGHTS you join a tight knit community and become part of the Knights family.
Other Attributes of the OKC Knights:
We are competitive and play to win.
We work harder than we think we can.
We strive to serve others.
We strive to leave people and placers better than we found them.
We are governed by a board of directors to provide accountability for our coaches, players, and athletic director.
We strive to glorify God on and off the court.
Join us and see what you can accomplish with the OKC KNIGHTS!
Teams and Fees
We have teams for both boys and girls. The age breakdowns are 10u, 12u, 14u, and JV and V high school teams. Players must meet the age requirement for their team by Sept 1, 2022. Our 10u and 12u teams are developmental teams, and our 14u and older teams are competitive teams. While developmental teams endeavor to allow all athletes playing time, equal playing time is not guaranteed on our competitive teams.
Our 10u and 12u teams play in a local league and also have games against other homeschool teams. Our 14u, JV, and V teams play other homeschool teams, Christian schools, and public-school teams.
10u team: $250 This covers gym rental fees, approximately 75 hours of practice time, coaching fees, player insurance, and all league and regular season tournament fees.
12u team: $250 This covers gym rental fees, approximately 75 hours of practice time, coaching fees, player insurance, and all league and regular season tournament fees.
14u teams: $500 This covers gym rental fees, approximately 125 hours of practice time, coaching fees, player insurance, all regular season tournaments fees, and national tournament team fee.
JV and Varsity teams: $750 This covers gym rental fees, approximately 125 hours of practice time, coaching fees, player insurance, regular season tournament fees, national tournament team fee, and access to HUDL which includes access to team film for all regular season games and season long player stats and highlight videos.
*Fees do not include the player uniform, individual and player travel expenses, and individual national tournament player fees. Fees may be paid in full or by monthly payment plan. All fees must be paid by the first game in order to participate.
We welcome homeschool athletes to our teams. We also welcome players who are transferring from other homeschool programs or from public schools, but to uphold the integrity of homeschool athletics we do have some eligibility requirements. For our part, we respect the other homeschool programs in OKC and will never recruit athletes away from other homeschool teams or recruit/persuade public school athletes to homeschool for the sole purpose of playing for our teams.
Players must be homeschooled at least 51% of the time.
Make a season long commitment to the teams, coaches and player.
Parents must be willing to volunteer during the games and in other events where needed.
Players must not have left another team or school for disciplinary reasons in the past 12 months.
Player and parents must be willing to abide by our code of conduct.
Players must live at home with his/her parent, legal guardian of board approved legally responsible person.
Transfer Student Eligibility:
There is no sitting period for transfers from homeschool programs who have been homeschooled for two consecutive years. Homeschool transfers who have only homeschooled for one year are subject to board approval.
Public School transfers:
Incoming Freshman and Sophomores are eligible immediately if they transfer before their first game.
Incoming Juniors – not eligible to play until November 23.
Incoming Seniors – not eligible to play until January 1
Players may still practice with their teams until they are able to play.
Upperclassmen must transfer before the first game of their previous team. In season upperclassmen transfers are NOT eligible to play for the Knights.
Transfer classifications are based on the student’s grade at the school or team they are transferring from. ie: If the student was a junior at their previous school, they are considered an incoming senior. If they “reclassify,” they are still treated as an incoming senior in terms of our eligibility rules.
